Chapters, books. Chapters...

I think that finishing a book is with no doubt one of the best feelings ever. It doesn't matter whether Harry Potter isn't coming back as we were used to, or if the ending was awful or outrageous or definitely not what we were expecting. In the end, finishing a book is accomplishing a goal. At least for myself.

Ending a book, as well, may mean sometimes to end despair and anxiety because some books tend to cause those feelings. The book might have been amazing at the beginning, or it was just another bad book, or the best one that became not so good. However, if you finish it, you can always start another, or read no books at all for while.

What happens though, if for some reason it is not possible to end the book for a while? Do the characters fade away? Maybe the thrill and the excitement gets trapped within the pages and not in the imagination of the reader. Or maybe everything remains in that marvelous imagination but time does its thing and takes life away, and with it, well, memories, imaginary locations, and everything a book is capable to produce in our very human minds.
Here's another scenario... What happens if you think you've ended a book but it turns out it's just another chapter, waiting for the author to finish it up? Is it possible to read another book if you are not completely sure of having ended the previous one?

Is it possible to know whether if you actually finish the book or just a chapter? Do you understand the huge difference?
