She is, to my opinion the most stupid "princess" that Walt Disney has produced. Don't get me wrong. I love the movie, I appreciate the delicacy of the drawings, the animation, the music...
But Cinderella happens to be the daughter of a rich men who let herself to be enslaved by her stepmother and stepsisters. She never stood for herself, she never revealed herself against the injustice. She just waited to the "dream that you wish will come true".
That "dream come true" only meant to meet a men who would drag her out of this place so they could live happily ever after. In the mean time, she washed the dishes, did the laundry, cleaned the tapestries and fed the hideous cat.
She relied only on her mice friends, that to me is the only pretty scheme of the movie. True friendship. But nah, nah, she meets the prince and leaves... Without the mice friends.
But, and much more interesting, how does she meet the Prince? He only watches her from a distance, quite large one. And obviously, how can he notice her ? He didn't noticed her, he noted the spectacular dress that Fairy Godmother gave her. Is it possible that the Prince could have notice her if she had gone to the ball wearing the ridiculous pink dress the nice mice sew for her?
Now, they meet and start dancing. And suddenly as an act of true magic, they fall in love. They kiss before even knowing each other's name. She didn't know she was kissing the Prince, for crying out loud! What does this teach young girls? To snog people you don't know? To "fall in love" with the first pretty-looking-guy out there?
And then, the clock ticks 12. She runs away, he makes lame attemps to chase her, he doesn't know her name, so he makes daddy to find her over a forgotten glass slipper.
Daddy finds her, they get married the day after.
And the live happily ever after... Yeah, right!
